Terroir

San Miniato,

Ever a land of wine-making, ever unique.

The soils that make up our hills have Pliocene origin; that is, the clay-rich layers are rich in marine fossils which alternate and combine with tuffaceous horizons: this harmony of the soil is rare and that is why the famous white truffle of San Miniato flourishes in our hills.

Furthermore, the sea currents that rise in the neighboring Valdarno area make our hills breezy, but above all they generate strong thermal changes that slow down the ripening process while increasing the aromatic complexity.

Thanks to its conformation, the San Miniato area is strongly suited for quality viticulture, for great red wines and fine white grape varieties.

« Authenticity and genuineness » this is my motto !

I immediately understood the potential of our land, and this is where my great challenge arose:

to produce high quality wines using only native vines found on our farm (already present in the Leopoldino land registry of 1830) to respect the authenticity of our viticultural heritage.

I also decided to manage our vineyards in a natural way following the principles of organic farming to promote the genuineness of my wines and above all to respect mother nature since she is the protagonist of my work. “
